“Dirty martini on the rocks,” I said to the exhausted bartender.
“Same,” Ilene followed. We usually drink Mezcal but a martini was calling our name.
“Do you have a spicy margarita,” Garrett asked. He always orders dumb drinks. The dumber, the better. I agree a spicy margarita is not a dumb drink but considering we were in one of the oldest bars in New Orleans, it was dumb.
I was in Ghana, West Africa with him once, and he ordered a mojito. What genius orders a drink made from the local water and leaves? You could see the diseases swimming around in the glass.
“No,” the bartender replied.
“Could you make one,” he asked sheepishly.
“I’ll try,” she answered.
We were in New Orleans for our private mastermind. We do this three or four times a year. Usually when one of us is about to freak out because we have no idea what to do with our life.
I grabbed several drink napkins and passed them to Ilene and Garrett.
“Write down 10 places you think we should take people this year if I launch a traveling mastermind,” I instructed.
I love three things. The fourth is travel. If you guess the first three I will help you figure out your life free of charge or buy you a hot tub.
Garrett has been to every country in the world. All 197. I was sure his answers would be interesting. Ilene has lived all over the United States. Me, I have been to some wild places.
Wait, real quick, let me tell you about my current adventure. I decided to do the 75 Hard challenge. It’s day seven. One of the daily challenges is to drink an obnoxious amount of water. I can unhappily report I have pissed 56,000 times since Tuesday.
Ilene is doing it as well and hasn’t slept since Monday. Hard to when you piss every three minutes.
I am creative which means I hate structure. To be successful, I need to learn structure, hence the 75 Hard challenge. I also don’t like looking like an uncooked biscuit with my shirt off. The good news is it’s only 75 days and then I will bounce to Brazil for my birthday.
Anyway, we workshopped my traveling mastermind idea during our traveling mastermind and came up with three places for a traveling mastermind this year:
Harvard in Boston
Tequila, Mexico
Havana, Cuba
However, the main goal of my mastermind group will be a Sunday self-audit we started as a result of our mastermind. It is powerful and easy.
If you want the inside scoop I will add you to a super private email list. Essentially, between us gals, the Sunday Mastermind is designed to help us all achieve our goals this year. Each Sunday you will set some time aside to think about your life. I will show you how. Then I will hold your ass accountable for doing the work.

Let’s do some crazy shit this year.
