Deuce, Deuce, Deuce Deuce!
I went on a date with a girl who talked to a tree. At the end of the date, we ended up at her house sitting under the tree. We kissed. Then she turned to the tree and talked to it. I forget the tree’s name but I felt awkward. It didn’t talk back.
I recently went on a date with a girl and three days later woke up on a Wednesday morning to 24 texts messages. That was weird.
I worked with a guy yesterday who has been married for 39 years. He told me he has no idea how. He also said he likes her.
Last night, in my Zoom happy hour group, I asked myself one of my own questions. When Ilene and I interview people, I write down 33 questions before the interview so they can pick a number if the interview gets boring. So, last night I had those of us on the Zoom pick a number from an old list I created when we interviewed a woman who was chased by her husband with a butcher knife.
Anyway…
The question I pulled was…
What does a broken heart feel like?
Wow, that is an excellent question. What does it FEEL like?
There were four of us on the Zoom. Me and three gals. I sat and thought about it for a minute.
My heart has been breaking a little lately. I won’t go into details but just take my word for it. My heart has also broken in huge ways in the past. It’s like the entire world disappears and you sit in misery.
To me, it feels like…
My heart is crying.
To me, it feels like…
My body is filled with gray
To me, it feels like…
An aching in my back and in my mind.
What is really happening? I have no idea. I assume emotions and stuff and things and triggers and blah, blah, blah…
So, I googled it…
Broken heart symptoms, such as chest tightness and shortness of breath, can seem like a heart attack. The problem happens when psychological distress triggers sudden weakness of the heart muscle. It can be caused by sudden shock or acute anxiety.
And…
When your heart “breaks,” a part of your heart actually enlarges. While this temporary enlargement causes depressed heart-pumping function in that area, the rest of your heart functions normally. Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) or cardiogenic shock also may occur during broken heart syndrome.
I guess the worst thing that could happen is we die of a heart attack? Fair enough.
Get to the point, Trey…
Today is 2/2/22 which is a magical day. Notice all the numbers are two.
There is something beyond us working in our favor today. Maybe God or the Grand Magician or the ghost of Patrick Swayze. Whatever it is, it is working in our favor today and today is magical. So, I think we need to make a wish today.
A wish about love.
A wish to face the fear of heartbreak, rejection, or hurt to find the one thing we all want the most. To feel the one thing we want the most. To be the one thing we want the most.
Love.
(Note: I’m an expert on love because I wrote a book about love and bananas which classifies me as an expert on love and bananas).
Take a risk today. Put your heart on the line. I dare you. Text her, Instagram him, or get the one you love some flowers. Magic is working in your favor.
Today is magical so be magical.
Trey
P.S. Don’t send 24 texts in a row.
P.P.S. I am doing a book signing next Thursday in Atlanta. Message me for details and come buy a book so I can buy another coffee.
